The NRL Schoolboy Trophy is a participation focused competition that aims to offer every high school across New South Wales with an opportunity to take part in Rugby League. Teams in under 13s, under 15s and Opens divisions will compete in state-wide Schoolboy Trophy competitions, which will begin in your local school sporting regions, with the winning school progressing to the next round.
The Katrina Fanning Challenge is an extremely popular event amongst primary schools in NSW/ACT. This division is focused on player development, participation, and engagement. At local/district events, games are not scored, which allows students to participate in games of Rugby League, with the focus on developing skills and player engagement, rather than progression or “winners” awarded at the culmination of the event. These events are played across the state, convened by local Game Development Officers (GDOs), and strategically placed in areas which are accessible to as many primary school students as possible.
The Katrina Fanning Cup is a 9 a side, state-wide competition for female secondary school students in 14s, 16s and 18s age divisions. School teams progress through local, regional and zone carnivals to culminate in a state final. These competitions are played across the state and are open to ALL secondary schools throughout NSW and the ACT. The competitions are convened by local Game Development Officers (GDOs), and strategically placed in areas which are accessible to as many secondary school teams as possible.
